I took last week off from this article to concentrate on the end of year lists but I am back this week. It will be a quick article though as the Top 100 Wrestlers list still needs finishing.
Jason Jordan is beginning to think that he is in the Shield. The rejection will be what pushes him over the edge. He is doing pretty well at being obnoxious while Reigns just basically tells him to shut the fuck up.
Absolution lost a match, if you care about that. Paige might miss the Rumble through injury which may prove problematic.
Curt Hawkins dropped to 0-152 with a loss to Matt Hardy. Hardy and Wyatt laugh at each other. Feud building 101.
Miz is back and he wants his title back too. Give the man what he wants, he's solid fucking gold.
Cedric Alexander defeated Enzo but only by countout so the reign of terror continues.
The Bar wants a title rematch at the Rumble, they get it. Miz wants one at Raw 25, he gets it too.
Titus Worldwide beat The Bar, because reasons I guess.
Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar did their thing, which seemed to annoy Kane who attacked Lesnar as he was leaving. All of the things that were happening clearly annoyed Braun too as he turned up and tried to kill everyone by pulling the lighting rig down on them with the aid of a grappling hook. Quite a few attempted murders in the last year or so.
Samoa Joe destroys Rhyno and then cuts a quality promo on Reigns and Cena. Shame he picked up an injury and might miss the Rumble.
Nia Jax claims that Asuka doesn't speak English, even though she has spoken English on numerous occasions. She then attacked Asuka before their match. They will face off next week.
The main event between Balor Club and Shield and Jordan was good, with the Club picking up a much needed win against someone decent. Jordan was also played off as more of a hindrance.
Overall Raw was okay but there was nothing to go out of your way for.
Styles is bewildered that Bryan booked the handicap match that he asked for. Owens calls him an idiot, Shane says he doesn't know why Bryan booked the match and books a 3-on-2 handicap match for tonight. Standard stuff.
Becky Lynch beat Ruby Riott in a match that was not as good as it should have been.
Bludgeon Brothers continued the bludgeoning by murdering the Ascension.
Mojo Rawley advanced in the US Title tournament in short order by smashing Zack Ryder.
Gable and Benjamin are pissed about not having the tag titles. They demand a rematch and Bryan books a 2 out of 3 falls match for the Rumble. That could steal the show.
Styles, Orton and Nakamura meet up backstage. Nakamura too sweets the title and leaves.
Breezango beat Rusev Day. I have no idea why this happened. Why do they hate people who get over?
Bryan and Shane question each other's mental stability. Having the top feud be between authority figures always works out well.
The main event was Styles, Orton & Nakamura vs Owens & Zayn and it was surprisingly bland. Having the heels at a disadvantage, thereby making them come across as sympathetic is always a strange choice to me. The faces won.
Smackdown has hit a run of boring shows recently and this was no different. The stories they are telling are more annoying than entertaining and the quality of the wrestling hasn't been good enough to overlook it.
205 Live was alright this week. There were only 2 matches and both of them were solid.
Gran Metalik beat TJP, who then threw a shit fit at losing. They continue to find ways to make TJP come across as an unlikable prick. Not necessarily in a way they would want.
Enzo spouts off about something. Tony Nese still wants back into the Zo Train for some reason.
Jack Gallagher says he is going to ruin Hideo Itami's life but I doubt that, he's already on 205 Live.
In the main event Cedric Alexander beats Tony Nese by using the old fake injury ruse.
Undisputed Era tells us that they will dominate NXT. Very possible.
Shayna Baszler beats Dakota Kai by referee stoppage after she stomps her arm off.
AoP want the tag belts back. Still not sure why they haven't been called up.
Kassius Ohno got his 2018 rolling with a win over Raul Mendoza.
Zelina Vega says that Almas is the truth. You're god damn right he is.
Velveteen Dream reckons he could beat Ohno in 30 seconds. I respectfully disagree.
Street Profits want a tag title shot so Regal books them against AoP. Bad luck lads.
Lars Sullivan eats Lio Rush whole. Then said that he wants Killian Dain. Sign me up.
Undisputed Era took out SAnitY backstage then gloated about not having opponents for the main event. Regal tells them to stop being dicks as they will be facing Roderick Strong and Aleister Black. They have a good main event with Undisputed Era picking up the win after Black chased Cole into the crowd.
After the match Cole and Black head back to the ring where Undisputed Era beat Black down, hitting him with a total elimination and a DVD on a chair. Regal is not happy about this and books Cole vs Black in an Extreme Rules match at TakeOver: Philadelphia.
