This Week In WWE

  • Raw kicked off with a match, shame it had Bray Wyatt in it. Reigns beat him to qualify for the Chamber match. It was alright.
  • The Revival say that they are a real tag team, then lose to Balor & Anderson, who aren't. Common sense.
  • Bayley and Sasha have an incredibly passive aggressive conversation. There is a heel turn coming. Eventually.
  • There was a cruiserweight filler match. It was a thing.
  • Kurt Angle announced the competitors in the first women's Elimination Chamber. Alexa Bliss accused him of sexism, even though it was Stephanie McMahon that announced the match last week. Angle also reminds her that she hasn't defended her title since October, which is daft. For the record it will be Bliss, Sasha, Bayley, Deville, Rose and Mickie in the Chamber.
  • Asuka and Bayley have a good match that Asuka wins, obviously. Asuka will face Nia Jax at the PPV and if Jax wins she will get a title shot at Mania, which is also daft.
  • The Miz qualified for the Elimination Chamber by beating Apollo Crews in a decent match that was only going to have one winner.
  • Jason Jordan failed to get cleared to wrestle despite claiming he was good to go. He's a fucking liability, and I'm not sure why, in the storyline, Rollins puts up with him. Reigns agrees to take his place in the tag title match.
  • The Bar vs Rollins & Reigns ended when human calamity Jason Jordan got involved and the match ended in DQ. Even Angle has had enough and tells him to fuck off home.
  • Nia Jax murdered a 17 year old.
  • Mickie James beat Sonya Deville with a roll up after being battered. Bliss makes the save because she needs friends.
  • Balor, Hardy, Crews and Wyatt will have a 4-way match next week to see who gets the last spot in the Chamber. I wonder who is winning that.
  • The main event was Strowman vs Cena vs Elias, with the winner entering the Chamber last. To the surprise of everyone Elias picked up the win after Braun took out Cena. The show ended with Braun killing the other two fools.
  • Raw was a typical mix of decent action and boredom.

  • For the 100th week in a row Smackdown started with Shane, Bryan, Owens, Zayn and Styles. It wasn't bad but it is getting very repetitive.
  • Charlotte beat Liv Morgan in a match that lacked any drama whatsoever.
  • The Bludgeon Brothers kill some jobbers. As is customary.
  • The Usos cut another great promo. They are incredible at the moment.
  • Daniel Bryan revealed the first Smackdown Top 10 and it only had faces on it. That suggests that either heels didn't vote, weren't asked, or voted for faces. Nonsense.
  • Bobby Roode beat Rusev in a US Title match. The match was good. Orton turned up after to hit an RKO out of nowhere on Roode. That is 2 weeks in a row that he has done that so I assume he now has the gimmick of Positively Kanyon (if you get that reference than you have my respect).
  • Gable & Benjamin beat the Ascension in a solid match.
  • The number 1 contendership main event between Owens and Zayn went to a no contest when Styles got involved. The match was fine but it just feels like they are just finding slightly different ways to get to the same outcome. It just feels lazy.
  • Smackdown was fine this week.

  • We get another two matches in the cruiserweight title tournament, starting with a very good match between Kalisto and Lince Dorado. They clearly have good chemistry and they went all out here resulting in a much better match than I was expecting. Kalisto picked up the win.
  • There is a video package for Roderick Strong. It was part of the one that was showed in NXT last year but it was still good.
  • Cedric Alexander got photobombed by Mustafa Ali.
  • TJP acts like a bitch about some negative comments on Twitter.
  • Next week we will get Akira Tozawa vs Mark Andrews, and we get a promo for Andrews.
  • Drew Gulak and Tony Nese meet with Drake Maverick. He tells them they will be facing each other next week as they spend too much time fucking about and not enough time wrestling.
  • The main event between Hideo Itami and Roderick Strong was excellent. The crowd took some time to get into it but they most certainly did. This was exactly what I want from 205 Live, two great wrestlers going all out for nearly 20 minutes. Strong picked up the upset win.
  • This episode of 205 Live was superb TV.

  • The show was supposed to start with a tag title match but SAnitY attacked Undisputed Era before it could start. Regal booked a tornado 6-man tag match to sort this shit out.
  • Heavy Machinery beat Moss & Sabatelli, it was a match. After the match Moss left Sabatelli.
  • Johnny Gargano came out to call out Tommaso Ciampa, but he got Andrade 'Cien' Almas and Zelina Vega. Vega calls him a loser and gets in his face but Candice stops that shit. The heels are sent packing and Gargano wants another title shot. Vega says he can have one as long as he is willing to put his career on the line. Gargano accepts.
  • Shayna Baszler says that she is the most feared woman in NXT.
  • Tyler Bate says he wants to have great matches with the likes of Black and Gargano.
  • Bianca Belair beat some chump.
  • The main event is the 6-man tag match discussed earlier. It was a fun main event that was another feather in the cap of Killian Dain. He looked great once again and picked up the win by pinning Fish.
  • NXT was a fun show, as it normally is. The shorter WWE TV shows are just easier to watch.

Show of the Week - 205 Live

For the last two weeks 205 Live has been brilliant. The focus on the tournament, and on the actual wrestling, has been a godsend. Drake Maverick is proving to be a great GM too. Great stuff.
