Bray starts the show off by saying something about slaying the beast. That will not happen. He says he will sacrifice some people. He once again claims that only he can slay the beast. Reigns decides he wants to make an appearance. He threatens Bray for no real reason which brings out Kurt Angle. He claims the fatal 5-way at Extreme Rules could be the most important match of the new era. How? Reigns retired Undertaker last month. He makes Wyatt vs Reigns for right now.
Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt - I missed most of this cuz I was making a sandwich. Priorities. I got back in time to see Samoa Joe do a run in. This brought out Rollins and he and Reigns ran off the heels.
We are backstage with Reigns and Rollins. Angle turns up to book the incredibly predictable tag main event. It's like GM Mode on the old Smackdown vs Raw games. Book a tag match to keep the feud going. Then the fucking drifter turns up. Angle books him in a match against Dean Ambrose. Why would you put him in a match you maniac?!
Akira Tozawa vs Ariya Daivari - For some reason they are talking to Brian Kendrick during the match but he isn't at commentary, he is backstage watching a TV. The reason for that is probably because the match lasted no time at all. Tozawa wins with a senton.
Sasha Banks and Alicia Fox have a backstage thing.
Elias Sampson vs Dean Ambrose - Miz and Maryse are on commentary. Sampson sings a song. It's bad. Miz makes some good points on commentary. Again. They have a decent back and forth match before Miz walks to the ring and attacks Sampson, handing him the win.
Enzo is lying on the floor backstage. Good times.
Back from break Enzo is being asked questions by the doctor. Cass says that Angle better find the culprit before he does.
Balor comes out to talk about facing Lesnar but Paul Heyman interrupts him. He says that everyone in the fatal 5-way is a victim except for Finn Balor. He praises Balor, calling him the best wrestler in the company. They shake hands and Balor tells Heyman that he will beat Brock Lesnar. Good segment.
Finn Balor vs Karl Anderson - This was a refreshingly competitive match. It was fun. Balor was always going to get the upper hand though and when he did he picked up the win with the Coup de Grace.
Sasha Banks vs Alicia Fox - Round 3. Just like the other 2 matches it wasn't particularly good Sasha won without even doing her finish.
Following the match Sasha and Noam Dar get into it allowing Alicia to cheap shot her.
Kalisto is chatting to Apollo Crews backstage when Titus O'Neil turns up. Titus invites Kalisto to be part of Titus Brand. He declines. Titus arranges a match between Kalisto and Apollo, because apparently Titus Brand can do that.
Goldust cuts a video promo where he basically says he will return to being the old Goldust. As long as he's not teaming with R-Truth he can do what he likes.
Alexa Bliss cuts a good promo backstage saying that Bayley won't win at Extreme Rules because it's not in her to do what's necessary.
Apollo Crews vs Kalisto - This was a relatively short match with Kalisto picking up the victory with a surprise Salida del Sol. Titus shouts at Apollo.
Matt Hardy vs Sheamus - The winner of this match gets to pick the stipulation for the title match at Extreme Rules. Good little match this one. Matt Hardy picks up the win following a distraction from Jeff Hardy and Cesaro. Matt Hardy, in 67% Broken Matt voice, announces that their match will be a cage match.
Austin Aries vs Tony Nese - Neville is at ringside. The Aries vs Neville match at Extreme Rules will be a submission match. Pretty good TV match. Aries sells the injured knee but picks up the victory after a nice transition from a guillotine choke into the Last Chancery. Neville attacks Nese following the match.
Alexa Bliss vs Mickie James - Alexa may not be the best in ring competitor but her character work is superb. She picks up the win in an okay match. After the match she hits Mickie with a kendo stick before Bayley makes the save.
Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe & Bray Wyatt - Main event time. This was another fun match. It picked up nicely in the latter stages. Joe picks up the victory for his team after some dissension between Rollins and Reigns. They are actually doing a good job of building the fatal 5-way match.
Following the match Balor asks Angle to put him in a match with one those men next week. Angle says he will put him in a match with two of them, Joe and Wyatt. He also announces Rollins vs Reigns as next week's main event. He says he is a damn good GM.
This was a better than usual episode of Raw. It had some fun matches and did some good build to Extreme Rules.
